Alec and Mackenzie started dating in 9th grade and stayed together through high school and into college. After taking a short break, they found their way back together during their colleges’ rival football game, Pitt vs Penn State. They’ve seen each other through all chapters of life over the last 14 years and are excited to continue making memories together now as husband and wife!
The couple wanted to find the perfect dream venue, no matter the distance, and fell in love with Brentsville Hall, located in Manassas, Virginia, and one of the top venues in Northern Virginia. Their grand ballroom with stunning chandeliers was the perfect wow factor they were envisioning for their destination wedding. Mackenzie wanted to bring the PA in VA by having a Traditional Pennsylvania Cookie Table, and additionally put the icing on the wedding day by offering individually packaged to-go cinnamon rolls as favors for the guests to enjoy the following morning.
A very unique wedding guestbook that the couple came up with for their event was a "Yearbook Guestbook", which is similar to a school yearbook, where the couple gathered key information to add to this book, such as: Their love story, the proposal, names and photos of their attending guests, and photos of the couple throughout the years. They also added some personalized sections, such as: a family tree/generations of love, in loving memory section, a thank you letter, vendor credits, and extra blank pages for the guests to sign.
